NEW PORTFOLIO DUE DATE!

The poetry portfolio will be due Tuesday, April 27th for 1st and 4a. It will be due Wednesday, April 28th for 4B.

Please note: you may OMIT items #10 and #12 from your portfolio without penalty. We have run out of time and have to cut a few things.

Please be sure that all of your portfolio work is typed. Also, please include your assignment sheet with point values so that you will know how your portfolio grade was determined. You may staple the assignment sheet to the top of your portfolio.

Due FRIDAY for 1st and 4a: read the poem “The Raven” on page 138 of your textbook. List examples for the following sound devices from the poem: 1. end rhyme, 2. slant rhyme, 3. internal rhyme, 4. rhyme scheme, 5. meter (copy a line and scan it), 6. onomatopoeia, 7. alliteration, 8. consonance, 9. repetition

On Friday, you should turn in examples from “The Bells” (from class) and from “The Raven” (homework above).

Same assignment is due MONDAY for 4B.

homework due dates – first week of March

1. Romeo and Juliet journal entries (one page each!) and act questions are due Monday, March 1st for blocks 1 and 4A. They are due Tuesday, March 2nd for block 4B.

2. Art supplies, including colored paper plus any markers, glue, or other supplies you might wish to use for a creative project, should be brought to class (along with your textbook) on Monday, March 1st for blocks 1 and 4A; on Tuesday, March 2nd for block 4B.

3. Creative projects (songs) are due Friday, March 5th for blocks 1 and 4A. They are due Monday, March 8 for block 4B.

4. The TEST on Romeo and Juliet will be Friday, March 5th for blocks 1 and 4A. It will be Monday, March 8 for block 4B.

ALL CLASSES: You should be keeping up with the journals and question sets for Romeo and Juliet. If you have not yet finished Acts I-III, you should do so immediately. Questions and journals will be collected the day after the class finishes reading Act V.
